This strawberry feta salad is fresh, simple, and naturally nut-free, making it perfect for family meals, gatherings, or allergy-friendly serving. Sweet strawberries, crisp greens, and creamy feta come together for a light, balanced salad that pairs with just about any meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 head red romaine lettuce, washed and torn
  • 2 cups mixed greens
  • 2 cups strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup feta cheese, crumbled

Optional Additional Toppings:

  • pecans
  • walnuts
  • blueberries
  • raisins
  • cranberries
  • sunflower seeds

Instructions

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry the romaine lettuce, then chop into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Dry greens help prevent a watery salad.
  3. Add the romaine and mixed greens to a large serving bowl and gently toss to combine.
  4. Arrange the sliced strawberries over the greens, concentrating them toward the center for even distribution.
  5. Sprinkle the crumbled feta over the strawberries and greens.
  6. Toss to distribute.
  7. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

  • For best texture, add toppings just before serving.
  • Pairs well with a light vinaigrette or my Strawberry Vinaigrette.
  • Add Crunch (Optional): Add ½ to 1 cup chopped pecans or candied pecans if nuts are not a concern.
  • Add Protein: Top with chicken like my Juicy Garlic Herb Chicken for a more filling meal.
  • Swap Greens: Use spinach or arugula in place of mixed greens for a different flavor profile.
